Our Principal
I would like to extend a warm welcome to Marie Schaefer families. As a member of District 90 for the past twenty-one years, I am truly honored to serve the O’Fallon community as principal at Marie Schaefer Elementary School. I started my career as a Math and English teacher at Fulton Jr. High. In addition to my teaching experience, I served Moye and Schaefer Elementary as Assistant Principal. I am excited and proud to now lead Schaefer Elementary.
Just like all of you, I am a parent, as well. I have been married to my wonderful wife for nineteen years and reside in Mascoutah. I have three children Jake, Oliva, and Harry. As a dad, I do my best to try to engage my kids to be the best they can be and be the best dad. You may see me in my off time at the ballpark coaching, watching my sons play ball, or at tumbling events with my daughter.
The faculty at Schaefer is committed to developing an amazing learning community in which staff, families, and students strive to our tradition of excellence. Schaefer takes pride in providing all students a safe and positive environment that empowers students to be respectful, responsible, and productive citizens.
I strongly believe that building relationships and communication are both crucial keys to a successful school environment. You can expect both from Schaefer to help build those relationships and have an open communication with you as a parent. When parents, students, and educators form a working relationship, success for all can be achieved. Please stay in contact with your child’s teacher. Volunteering opportunities are also available and may be accessed through the classroom teacher or the main office.
Please continue to look for our monthly newsletter, to outline our upcoming events and answers to many questions. The school website can also provide important information for you.
To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I hope that you are excited for this coming school year.
Please know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversations and positive input throughout the year. If at any time, you need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out.
I look forward to working with each of your students.
Sincerely
Dan Rudy
Principal
